What is Lifeline?
Lifeline is an FCC program that helps make communications services more affordable for low-income consumers. Lifeline provides subscribers a discount on monthly telephone service purchased from participating providers in the marketplace.
How Do I Qualify?
You can get Lifeline if your income is 135% or less than the Federal Poverty Guidelines, or if you participate in certain assistance programs, such as:
- Medicaid
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA)
- Veterans Pension and Survivors Benefit
